Static Balloon Wall
You can fight the entire mass of the Earth with a piece of rubber and some hair.
The Setup:
-
Inflate a balloon.
-
Rub it on your head (or a wool sweater) like you’re trying to start a fire.
-
Place it gently against the wall. Let go.
The Glitch: It stays. Gravity is pulling down with all the force of the planet, but the balloon refuses to fall.
The Why: When you rubbed the balloon, you stole electrons. You made the balloon negatively charged. When it touches the wall, it pushes the wall’s electrons away (polarization), creating a positive surface. Opposites attract. That invisible electrical bond is stronger than gravity.
That’s not magic. That’s Coulomb’s Law in your living room.
